Global Risks interconnections map 2017

Which are the most important and interconnected trends that will shape global development in the next 10 years? See how respondents of the Global Risks Perception Survey assess global risks featured in the Global Risks Report 2017.

The Global Risks Perception Survey (GRPS) respondents were asked to identify between three and six pairs of global risks they believe to be most interconnected.

Respondents were also asked to select the three trends that are the most important in shaping global development in the next 10 years. For each of the three trends identified, respondents were asked to select the risks that are most strongly driven by those trends. The global risks with the most connections to trends are spelled out in the figure.

The GRPS is the main instrument used to assess global risks in the Report. The survey was conducted between early September and mid-October 2016 (from 07 September to 15 October 2016) among the World Economic Forum’s multi-stakeholder communities of leaders from business, government, academia and non-governmental and international organizations as well as members of the Institute of Risk Management.
