New Joiner

Welcome to Zurich! We’re so glad that you chose us.

Now that you have accepted the offer with Zurich, you have received a Welcome Letter with an introduction to the Zurich New Joiner training program. You now have day one access to the New Joiner Website where you will find introductory information about Zurich. Your welcome continues on-site when you begin a series of manager conversations and, in some locations, participate in a group orientation event.

The Zurich New Joiner Program is an onboarding training program which provides you with the initial organizational knowledge you need to be successful at Zurich. It is designed to help you understand the organization and your role’s fit in the bigger picture.

We’re keen to make sure that your first few days, weeks, and months go well, and that you feel part of the Zurich family as quickly as possible. To that end, we’ve uncovered six “key touchponts" in a new joiner’s onboarding experience. These are moments where we at Zurich have the opportunity to really help your experience be as positive as possible. These key touchpoints are shown below, along with your new joiner guide with tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your first three months at Zurich.

Our Industry, Zurich Global and Local Entities

You will gain a foundational understanding of the insurance industry as well as about Zurich, both as a global company and locally where you work. You will learn about Zurich’s mission, vision and organizational strategies - starting from the global perspective and continuing to your specific local level. You will need to be able to identify how your local organization fits into the broader picture and most importantly, how your specific role fits into our purpose of creating a brighter future together.

People activities

You will gain an understanding of the integrated people activities, and associated systems, that are used at Zurich to manage your career. Beginning with setting your performance objectives, you will start understanding your responsibilities and the skills and knowledge needed in your newly accepted position.

Relationships

Because positive relationships are critical to early success at Zurich, we encourage you to build personal relationships starting with your Manager and teammates. Through regular conversations with your manager, you will gain a deeper understanding of your new organization, department, and your role.

Survey assessments

To measure implementation and effectiveness of the Zurich New Joiner training program, we want your feedback through surveys throughout the first 90 days to assess your on-boarding experience.
