Work environment at Zurich
We want to create a positive work environment and consistently take care of the wellbeing in the workplace.
Our environments
Globally, Zurich places great emphasis on employee wellbeing, offering effective solutions and making changes to the work environments that empower our people to realize their full potential.
“Zurich is dedicated to fostering an engaged and thriving culture that supports wellbeing. Through a business led approach, Zurich strives for all employees to be supported and empowered to pursue their physical, financial, social, and emotional wellbeing. With this employee centric approach, our people can bring their best self to their family, work, and community.”
Flexwork
Zurich implemented a flexible working solution named Flexwork@Zurich across its entire organization. It is a framework that encourages employees to work in a way that achieves optimum results and help to maintain a healthy work-life balance while responding to changing customer demands. The framework includes arrangements for remote working.
Health & Safety
Zurich is dedicated to providing a working environment that supports employees’ physical and mental health and wellbeing. Effective management of health and safety will help our employees to perform better in serving our customers and in turn creating added value for all our stakeholders.
Zurich employees generally work in low risk environments and are not exposed to significant health and safety hazards. Nevertheless, Zurich adopts a systems-based approach to managing health and safety risks in a structured and consistent way across all its operations, and there is a global program in place to ensure that we continually improve our health and safety performance.
We have a Group-wide policy and procedures that clearly identify the key requirements to protect the health and safety of our own employees and all those we work with. This supports our efforts to reduce incidents and injuries in our operations. A key part of our approach is to promote a culture, led and supported by management, in which people take personal responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and others.
Health and safety officers within each country implement health and safety policy requirements in collaboration with its leaders. Health and safety management groups at global and country levels provide oversight and ensure that we are meeting our goals.
Parental leave
Zurich implemented global parental leave principles, specifically that paid leave should in principle be available to anyone who becomes a new parent, regardless of gender. At Zurich, we recognize that every family is unique and balancing responsibilities is important to all of us.
