It's all about people. Belonging
Belonging is a sense of relatedness connected to a positive relationship within Zurich. It is the combined result of diversity, equity and inclusion.
How we understand belonging
To promote greater inclusion and belonging for targeted areas, Zurich encourages the creation of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). An ERG is a voluntary, employee-led group that fosters a healthy, safe, diverse and inclusive workplace aligned with business and DEIB objectives driven by our people, expertise and passion.
We have a number of ERGs that are currently active across Zurich that drive positive impact for our people and organization.
Our global communities of belonging

YouMatter
YouMatter is an employee led group with the goal of supporting employees across the globe in their physical, social, emotional and financial wellbeing.
Employee Resource Groups focused on cultural identity
We have a number of Employee Resource Groups around the world focused on culture and race. For example:
DEZ LATAM, Brazil
Founded in 2018, the group fosters inclusion, retention and development of employees of different ethnicities – specifically a more inclusive workplace for black professionals. Zurich Brazil and Zurich Santander Brazil are signatories to the 10 commitments of the Business Initiative for Racial Equality Forum.
Cultural Awareness Network (CAN), UK
CAN has been working to engender a culture of diversity, inclusion and tolerance since 2016 by raising cultural awareness among UK employees, communities and customers. They arrange regular events and communications to increase understanding and appreciation of different cultures, faiths, ethnicities, nationalities and languages. It has over 160 members and is sponsored by two members of the UK Executive team.
