The Global Risks Report 2025, developed by the World Economic Forum presents the results of the Global Risks Perception Survey (GRPS), which captures insights from more than 900 global experts. It analyses global risks through three timeframes: immediate-term (2025), short- to medium-term (2027) and the long term (2035).
Watch the video with Peter Giger, Group Chief Risk Officer to learn about the global risks landscape for each timeframe:

"When we talk about global risks we tend to focus on the immediate. That's understandable. It's what the headlines show us. But the risk landscape stretches further.
In 2025, the biggest risk is perceived to be state-based armed conflicts. But as we witness today, extreme weather events such as wildfires remain a constant disruptor to our lives and communities.
By 2027, misinformation and disinformation are expected to become the dominant risk. This isn't just about conspiracy theories. It's about trust, governance and cohesion. And while extreme weather continues, digital conflict, cyber espionage and warfare take center stage.
By 2035, extreme weather events are expected to be more frequent. And whole ecosystems are at risk of failing. Biodiversity loss and resource scarcity threaten global stability.
We know these trends. We can see where they're heading. The question isn't whether we'll face these risks, but how soon and how prepared we will be. The long term isn't as far away as we think. Every decision we make today moves us closer to resilience or further into crisis.
The future will come. What kind of future will we create?"
