Zurich proposes Catherine P. Bessant for election to the Board of Directors
Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) announced today the Board of Directors will propose to shareholders to newly elect Catherine P. Bessant to the Board for a one year term of office. The election will take place at the Annual General Meeting on March 29, 2017.
Bessant has been Chief Operations and Technology Officer at Bank of America since 2010. She has held a wide range of leadership roles at Bank of America, driving significant growth as the firm has evolved into one of the world’s leading financial services companies. She has held a number of corporate board positions and is widely recognized for her leadership in business and in the financial services and technology industries, as well as for her contributions to community and civic life.
Tom de Swaan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zurich, said: “We are delighted that Catherine P. Bessant has accepted our nomination to join the Zurich Board. Her core strengths, experience and constituency management capabilities make her an ideal candidate.”
All the current board members will stand for re-election for another one-year term. Subject to the re-election and election of the members of the Board by shareholders, the Board of Directors of Zurich will consist of the following members:
