Strategy & governance

We aspire to be one of the most responsible and impactful businesses in the world

Zurich’s strategic approach to sustainability

Sustainability is about how we do business. We have integrated sustainability across the Group’s strategy, both globally and locally. As an advocate, adviser and role model, we want to empower individuals and organizations to act today and create a better tomorrow. To do this—and to build on our existing achievements—we have set two priorities for the strategic cycle 2023-2025. First, we aim to accelerate innovation for customer sustainability, offering sustainable solutions and inspiring trust and meaningful relationships with our customer and partners. Second, we work hard towards delivery of the bold ambitions that we set out in 2019 in regard to our net-zero journey, work sustainability principles and data commitment. We have also updated our strategic framework to view sustainability through three overlapping lenses: planet, customers and people.

Sustainability is an integral part of our governance

Our governance structure supports a stakeholder-inclusive approach. Embedding sustainability throughout our business will enable us to maximize our impact. We treat sustainability as an integral part of our governing system.
