Zurich pledges help to speed up COVID-19 vaccination in Switzerland

Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) welcomes today’s Swiss government summit on accelerating the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out in the country. The Group is committed to putting its resources, people and infrastructure behind the campaign.

“A rapid, large-scale vaccination campaign is essential for the physical and mental wellbeing of the population and for the health of the economy,” said Group Chief Executive Officer Mario Greco. “Many of our customers, particularly small businesses and families, have been hard hit by the pandemic and we cannot lose any time in bringing life in Switzerland back to normal.

“Zurich will do whatever it can to support a swift roll-out of the vaccination campaign, and I urge every business leader in the country to get involved to make the government’s ambition a success.”

Since May last year, Zurich has made free COVID-19 testing available to employees and their families, and also provides them with free COVID-19 hospitalization benefits. The Group has pledged to provide COVID-19 vaccinations free of charge to employees worldwide, once they become available and those most in need have been inoculated.
